Organized by I.C. "Lotos", the training for peer leaders was successfully implemented, with the aim of strengthening the knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality peer support to people with disabilities. The training was led by program coordinator Melisa Papić, and through interactive work, the participants had the opportunity to improve their competencies in the areas of active listening, empathic communication, empowerment and support based on mutual understanding and shared experience.
Peer support represents one of the most effective models of empowerment, as it enables people with disabilities to build self-confidence, make informed decisions and participate more actively in the life of their community through mutual trust, exchange of experiences and mutual understanding.
We thank all participants for their dedication, openness and motivation to support others with their knowledge and experience. We are convinced that the acquired knowledge will contribute to the development of quality skills of peer leaders and further improve support for people with disabilities.
Together we build a community where support, solidarity, and equality of access are available to everyone.
The activity was implemented within the framework of a program intended for women and young people with disabilities implemented by I.C. “Lotos” with the support of Kynnys ry and STIL – personlig assistans och politisk avsökning.
