U periodu od 16. do 22. maja 2022. godine u ugodnoj atmosferi kampa “Fo'Rest” u Međugorju, u organizaciji Informativnog centra za osobe s invaliditetom “Lotos” Tuzla održan je trening za jačanje liderskih kapaciteta za žene sa invaliditetom s područja BiH. Trening je nastao kao odgovor na nekoliko različitih projekata i analiza koje su nedvosmisleno pokazale da u Bosni i Hercegovini žene sa invaliditetom ne zauzimaju liderske pozicije, kako u zajednici, tako i u organizacijama osoba sa invaliditetom. Treningu je prisustvovalo 25 žena s invaliditetom s područja cijele BiH.
In the past, in informal conversations during mentoring, as well as during Peer sessions for women throughout BiH, participants clearly emphasized that their initiatives and resources were unused. This is partly the responsibility of the current leadership of the organizations, but most certainly also the lack of self-confidence and knowledge of the women themselves. The project that IC "Lotos" is implementing with the partner organization "Kynys" from Helsinki - Finland aims to strengthen women's leadership within the movement and, as a result, establish more stable and long-term support for women with disabilities.
The role of trainers at the training was played by Jovana Džever, Assistant Professor Zumreta Galijašević, Amira Salković and the expert team of IC “Lotos” – trainer Sandra Marković and co-trainer Melisa Papić, who coordinate these activities.
The topics worked on with the participants were:
– Resource management (time, people, money);
– Personal professional growth (motivation, recognition of emotions);
- Awareness of personal gender stereotypes and patterns of behavior and their consequences on participation;
– Leadership.
In addition to the dedicated work and acquisition of new knowledge by our participants, there was also time for free and fun activities during the Training. Karaoke, darts competition, walks, cinema, socializing, Peer meetings were organized, and the Forum-Theater play “Personal Stories” was also held, which was created in the previous period as a valuable result of the activities of the project “Disability and Sexual and Gender-Based Violence - Capacity Building against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence”.
Support for the implementation of the Training was provided by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy of the Government of the Federation of BiH, as well as the Government of the Tuzla Canton.
