On Thursday, September 11, 2025, a meeting was held in Brčko as part of the project "Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities and Social Cooperation - DISC," implemented by Caritas Bosnia and Herzegovina in partnership with organizations of persons with disabilities, with financial support from the European Union, the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, and Caritas Slovenia, where representatives of local advocacy groups, organizations of persons with disabilities, and partner institutions gathered.

The meeting was opened with welcoming addresses, after which local advocacy groups presented their work so far, the initiatives they have launched, the results achieved, and plans for future actions and campaigns. Through the exchange of experiences, participants demonstrated how joint efforts contribute to strengthening the visibility and influence of people with disabilities in local communities.

A particularly important part of the meeting was dedicated to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the concluding observations of the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which represent key guidelines for further advocacy activities at the local level. Presentations were made by Binasa Goralija and Fikret Zuko, highlighting the importance of consistent application of international standards in practice.

In the final part of the discussion, the possibilities for joint action, coordination, and future steps within the project were discussed. It was concluded that the cooperation of all actors and continuous action at the local level is crucial for the improvement of the rights of persons with disabilities.

The meeting concluded with a joint lunch and continued informal networking among the participants.
