Today, August 21, 2026, a meeting of the Coalition of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities of the Tuzla Canton was held within the framework of the MyRight program and the local advocacy group of the DISC Caritas project, where participants discussed past activities, current advocacy initiatives and next steps in joint action.

At the meeting, the minutes from the previous meeting were considered and adopted, an overview of the implemented activities was made, and the realization of the remaining obligations was agreed upon.

Special attention is paid to the local advocacy initiative, its current state and activities that need to be implemented in the coming period.

They also discussed the participation of Coalition representatives at the meeting of the four coalitions, which will be held in Medjugorje from September 8 to 10, 2026, as well as opportunities for further networking and exchange of experiences.

Within the framework of the meeting, the website and online platform of the Union of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities of Bosnia and Herzegovina were presented, as well as the unique database of organizations of persons with disabilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which represents a significant step towards better networking, availability of information and visibility of organizations of persons with disabilities. The site was created as part of the project: "Creating policies in Bosnia and Herzegovina with respect for human rights and the rights of persons with disabilities" implemented by the Information Center "Lotos" from Tuzla and the Association of Blind Cantons of Sarajevo, with the support of the European Union. Through an open conversation, opinions, suggestions and experiences were exchanged, with a common commitment to continue working on improving the position and rights of people with disabilities through cooperation, advocacy and active action.

Together we can do more - more visible, stronger and more active in advocating the rights of people with disabilities.
