The meeting was moderated by Harun Aliefendić, a prominent activist from Zenica-Doboj Canton. The moderator sought to foster an open and constructive discussion and exchange of views among the meeting participants, who represented 14 organizations of persons with disabilities.

This was an opportunity for people with disabilities to be reminded once again of the importance of the joint Advocacy Strategy for the rights of people with disabilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also to discuss concrete local initiatives and experiences that can contribute to stronger and more efficient joint action.

The advocacy strategy was presented by Samir Krivić, who spoke about its key goals and significance for organizations of people with disabilities, especially in the context of joint action towards institutions and decision makers.

The second part of the meeting was dedicated to the presentation of the online platform of the Union of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was created thanks to the DISC Project implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina by Caritas Bosnia and Herzegovina, with partners.

The website of the Union was presented by Almir Zuko, introducing the participants to the possibilities that the platform provides for better connection, information and visibility of the work of organizations of people with disabilities.

During the presentation, the representatives of PWD organizations expressed their desire to have their organizations registered on the website of the Union.

In the continuation of the meeting, local advocacy initiatives, challenges that organizations face in their work, as well as opportunities to connect experiences and successful examples from different environments and use them for stronger advocacy were discussed.

It can be concluded that such meetings have a special significance because they show how important it is for organizations of people with disabilities to jointly recognize problems, exchange experiences and come forward with clear and agreed requirements. The participants of the meeting once again expressed the view that only by being connected and persistent can we have a stronger influence on the creation of policies and decision-making that will improve the position of people with disabilities in the entire territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It is important to emphasize that this meeting was also attended by representatives of the Coordination Committee of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities in Sarajevo Canton and representatives of the coalition of Tuzla Canton.

The activity was realized in synergy with the DISC project of Caritas in BiH, through cooperation with coalitions and local advocacy groups and their coordinators.

The meeting was held within the framework of the project "Creating policies in Bosnia and Herzegovina with respect for human rights and the rights of persons with disabilities", implemented by the Information Center for Persons with Disabilities I.C. "Lotos" from Tuzla and the Association of Blind Cantons of Sarajevo, with the financial support of the European Union.
