The aim of the research is: Assessing the current situation and preparing proposals and initiatives that will contribute to increasing citizen participation in the processes of local self-government development in the City of Tuzla.
Young women with disabilities expressed their opinions on the biggest problems they face in the City of Tuzla, such as architectural barriers faced by people with disabilities, insufficient support in education, employment processes, etc. This contributed to increasing the participation of citizens in local decision-making processes and introducing social accountability mechanisms into the practice of local administration, and improving the efficiency of local government in providing public services and managing public goods.
Through their participation, this group of young women actively contributed to the development of initiatives and proposals for improving the quality of life for all citizens in the City of Tuzla and providing equal opportunities, thus for the general development of local self-government and greater involvement of young people in these processes. Through their participation, the activists of IC "Lotos" have shown themselves to be recognizable strong young women in the fight for the mission of a more just, democratic, civil society.
