The advocacy strategy for the rights of PWDs in BiH and the web platform of the Union of PWDs were presented

A meeting organized by the Coalition of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities of the Brčko District was held in the premises of the Brčko Diabetes Association, during which important tools for stronger advocacy and connection of organizations of persons with disabilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina were presented.

As part of the activity, the Advocacy Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the period 2025-2030 was presented, as an important framework for the joint action of organizations of persons with disabilities in order to improve their position, exercise their rights and influence decision-making processes.

Special attention was paid to the presentation of the website and online platform of the Union of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the unique database of organizations of persons with disabilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. These digital tools aim to improve the availability of information, the connection and mutual cooperation of organizations, but also to increase their visibility in the public and towards institutions.

The website and platform were created within the framework of the project "Creating policies in BiH with respect for human rights and the rights of persons with disabilities", which is implemented by the Information Center for Persons with Disabilities "Lotos" Tuzla and the Association of Blind Cantons of Sarajevo, with the support of the European Union.

During the presentation, the participants had the opportunity to learn about the possibilities of using the platform, the content of the organization's database and the ways in which digital tools can contribute to a better exchange of information and the joint action of organizations of people with disabilities.

Exchange of experiences, available information and stronger connection of organizations represent an important basis for building a stronger movement of people with disabilities and joint advocacy of changes that lead to a more equal and inclusive society.
