On the occasion of May 15, which is celebrated worldwide as Digital Accessibility Day, the Information Center for People with Disabilities "Lotos" Tuzla organized a conversation with young people with disabilities on this topic, with the aim of emphasizing the importance of accessible digital technologies for people with disabilities.
Through an open discussion, the participants pointed out that the use of digital tools is extremely important today, especially for young people with disabilities. Digital platforms are not only the main source of information, but also a powerful tool through which young people can express their creativity, share ideas and promote inclusive values. In addition, they provide opportunities for professional development and realization of business initiatives.
Some of the participants also shared their personal experiences of using social networks to promote hobbies, artworks and other activities, which further confirms the importance of digital accessibility in modern society.
The joint conclusion of the group of young people with disabilities was that digital accessibility today is almost as important as physical and architectural accessibility, and that it is necessary to continuously raise awareness of its importance among all actors, from decision makers, people with and without disabilities, to designers and creators of digital content.
The information center for people with disabilities "Lotos" will continue to promote accessibility and inclusion at all levels, because the digital world must be accessible to everyone equally.
