This year's May 5th - European Day of Independent Living was marked by the Information Center for Persons with Disabilities "Lotos" Tuzla with a public awareness campaign among citizens and the public, which was held on Monday, May 6, 2024, at the Tuzla Freedom Square, starting at 11:00 a.m.
The event was joined by students and a teacher from the Elementary School "Đurđevik" with whom IC "Lotos" participated as part of the project: "Bridges of Equality of Youth with and without Disabilities" with the support of the International Association "Interactive Open Schools" MIOS – Interactive Open Schools Tuzla wants to contribute to building an environment that supports the development and education of children with disabilities, encouraging inclusion and strengthening unity and connection between young people with and without disabilities.
May 5th - European Day of Independent Living, proclaimed by the European Network on Independent Living (ENIL), is dedicated to promoting the right of persons with disabilities to independent living, as well as raising awareness of the challenges that persons with disabilities face in their daily lives when exercising their right to independent living.
