On December 5, the Information Center for Persons with Disabilities “Lotos” Tuzla organized a performance of the play: “Personal Stories” at the National Theater Tuzla. The play starred persons with disabilities and once again presented real-life experiences of violence experienced by persons with disabilities in everyday life. In this way, through art, we want to point out that violence is not a private matter but concerns all of us, and that together we must do everything in our power to prevent the practice of disability affecting a greater degree of exposure to violence. We owe special gratitude to our students from the “Novi Grad” Elementary School who, by actively participating in the play, prevented violence and brought positive endings to the scenes from the play. We sent a strong message that violence should be approved and perpetrators encouraged, if it does not meet with a reaction from the environment, and that we can and must all influence the prevention of abuse and violence against persons with disabilities. Support for the realization of the play was provided by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth of the Canton of Tuzla.
