Representatives of the Union of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina held a meeting with the Minister of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Sevlid Hurtić, with the aim of strengthening cooperation and improving the position of persons with disabilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The activities of the Union, which gathers 19 organizations of persons with disabilities from all over the country, were presented at the meeting, and priorities for the next period were considered, including strengthening institutional support for organizations of persons with disabilities, improving the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and strengthening the role of the Council for Persons with Disabilities in BiH.
Special attention is paid to the organization Fourth Congress of Persons with Disabilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will be held from October 20th to 22nd, 2026 in Neum, as the largest national gathering dedicated to the rights, inclusion and quality of life of persons with disabilities.
Representatives of the Ministry and the Union expressed their commitment to continuing the partnership dialogue and working together to create policies and initiatives that will contribute to a more equal and inclusive society for all people with disabilities.
