Representatives of the Information Center for Persons with Disabilities "Lotos" Tuzla held a meeting today with the Director of the Police Administration of the Tuzla Canton Ministry of the Interior, Police Inspector General Elvir Mahmutović, and representatives of the Police Administration.

The meeting discussed the possibilities of improving cooperation in the areas of protection of rights and safety of persons with disabilities, accessibility of police services, prevention of violence, as well as improvement of institutional treatment and communication with persons with different types of disabilities.

Special attention is paid to the possibilities of more concrete and continuous cooperation between I.C. "Lotos" and the Police Directorate in matters of common interest. A proposal was also presented Memorandum on cooperation between the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Turkey and IC Lotos, which was taken over for further review and reconciliation.

The meeting represents one of the steps towards the development of cooperation aimed at greater accessibility, equality and realization of the rights of persons with disabilities in contact with police services.
