On October 28, 2026, in the premises of the Information Center for People with Disabilities "Lotos" Tuzla, a meeting of representatives of I.C. "Lotos" and the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Tuzla Canton, during which signed Memorandum of Cooperation, which made an important step towards strengthening mutual partnership and improving the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities.

The signing of the Memorandum represents the continuation of the activities started during the previous meeting, held on October 5, 2026, when the possibilities of improving the accessibility of police services, preventing violence and adapting institutional treatment and communication to the needs of people with different types of disabilities were considered.

The memorandum confirms commitment to the development of cooperation between organizations of persons with disabilities and police structures, with the aim of creating a more accessible and safer environment, improving mutual understanding and strengthening awareness of the rights and needs of persons with disabilities.

The special importance of this cooperation is reflected in the possibility of connecting the experiences of organizations of persons with disabilities with the institutional capacities of the police, in order to recognize and remove obstacles in the exercise of rights, improve communication and develop approaches that respect the different needs of citizens.

For I.C. "Lotos" this Memorandum represents an important step in advocating equal rights, available and affordable public services and building a society where people with disabilities can live safely, with dignity and participate equally in the life of the community.

The signing of the Memorandum is not only a formal act, but an opportunity to translate cooperation into concrete activities and results.

We believe that joint action will open up space for new initiatives, better institutional practice and improvement of the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities in the area of ​​Tuzla Canton.
