Organized by the Swedish organization MyRight and five coalitions of organizations of persons with disabilities from Bijeljina, Doboj, Mostar, Sarajevo and Tuzla, a roundtable discussion was held dedicated to using the Alternative Report on the Implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a tool for advocating for the rights of persons with disabilities domestically and internationally.
The presenters of the round table were H.E. Ambassador of Sweden in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fredrik Schiller, Lejla Somun Krupalija, reporter of the Alternative Report, Zuko Fikret, president of the Coalition of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities in Sarajevo Canton, Milorad Jović, technical secretary of the Kolosi BN coalition from Bijeljina and Jelena Mišić, coordinator of the coalition of the Doboj region. The discussion was opened by Srđan Dizdarević, director of the Sarajevo House of Human Rights, and the round table was moderated by Jasminka Rebac, coordinator of the "Together We Are Stronger" coalition from Herzegovina-Neretva Canton.
The aim of the roundtable, to which representatives of relevant entity ministries and civil society organizations were invited, was to exchange opinions and experiences in advocating for the human rights of persons with disabilities, as well as opportunities for advocacy using the Alternative Report, a document based on facts collected during the holistic monitoring process in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
