The Informative Center for Persons with Disabilities "Lotos" in the "Dramar" Shopping Center in Tuzla organized a presentation of the research results on the status of the rights of persons with disabilities in the Tuzla Canton on September 10, 2025. The event was held as part of the project "Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities and Social Cooperation – DISC," implemented by Caritas Bosnia and Herzegovina in partnership with organizations of persons with disabilities, including I.C. "Lotos," with financial support from the European Union, the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, and Caritas Slovenia.

The event was attended by 19 participants, representatives of institutions and organizations for persons with disabilities from the Tuzla Canton, who were presented with the results of the research prepared by Dr. Sci. Zumreta Galijašević Baluković. The research offers a detailed insight into the status of the realization of the rights of persons with disabilities in the Tuzla Canton, including the identification of challenges, potentials, and specific recommendations for improvement.

A special focus of the event was directed towards the guidelines for the development of the Action Plan for the area of disability in TK, which should serve as a basis for the systemic and equal inclusion of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society.

Suvad Zahirović, director of I.C. "Lotos," spoke about the importance of this research, the role of organizations for persons with disabilities, and the next steps in the process of developing the Action Plan.

Participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences, share comments and suggestions, especially in the context of developing the future Action Plan. We believe that the research results will serve as a valuable foundation for shaping public policies that will meet the real needs of persons with disabilities, in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

The research is available in both printed and digital form, and the media has also covered the event very well.

The event concluded on a more informal note, with socializing and refreshments, as dialogue and cooperation remain key tools for achieving systemic and sustainable changes.
