In Neum, organized by the Network of Women with Disabilities in BiH under the Union of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities in BiH and the Information Center Lotos from Tuzla, a forum and meeting of women with disabilities was successfully held in the period from September 22 to 25, which brought together participants from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina. The event was realized with financial support European Union in BiH and partner from Finland - Kynnys ry and Disability Partnership Finland, and Caritas Bosne & Herzegovina tru project DISC.

They discussed the role of the Network of Women with Disabilities, its past activities and plans for the future. A special focus was placed on the topics of discrimination, violence against women with disabilities and gender equality, and the participants were joined by a representative OSCE Missions in BiH, making an additional contribution to this important discussion.

Part of the day was dedicated to a powerful art form - forum theater, through which the participants had the opportunity to take part in a play inspired by the real life stories of people with disabilities who survived violence. This emotional and poignant performance further strengthened the awareness of the seriousness of the problem that women with disabilities face on a daily basis.

In the spirit of joint action, through group work, the participants nominated priority topics and created a draft Action Plan of the Network of Women with Disabilities. The goal was to empower women to take an active role in their local communities and to initiate changes that will contribute to a more inclusive and equal society.

The forum of women with disabilities in Neum 2025 once again showed how important it is to provide space for women with disabilities to gather, empower each other, exchange experiences and work together towards positive changes.
