As part of the preparations for the observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a creative workshop was held on October 14, 2026, dedicated to preparing a theatrical performance that will—through art and stage expression—promote the rights, opportunities, and potential of persons with disabilities.
The workshop was led by Jasmin Salkić, an assistant at the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation at the University of Tuzla, and the meeting was an opportunity to jointly develop ideas, exchange proposals and plan the next steps in the production of the play.
During the workshop, discussions covered the script, casting, selection of props, stage design, as well as the time and venue for the performance. Through open dialogue and collaborative effort, the participants laid the groundwork for a play that will highlight to the audience the importance of inclusion, equality, and respect for diversity.
Theatre is much more than an artistic expression—it is a space where voices are heard, experiences are shared, and prejudices are re-examined. For this very reason, through this performance, we wish to highlight that persons with disabilities possess knowledge, talents, ideas, and potential that deserve to be recognized, supported, and valued.
Positive energy, creativity, and a sense of togetherness marked this first meeting, which represents an important step toward creating a story that will inspire, connect, and foster positive changes in society.
Every great story starts with an idea, and ours is just starting to take shape! Together, step by step, we continue to build a scene where inclusion, understanding, and equal opportunities take center stage.
The workshop was carried out with the support of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports and the City of Tuzla.
