At the thematic session of the Assembly of Tuzla Canton, which was held on Wednesday, June 10, information on the topic "Analysis of the rights and position of children and persons with disabilities in Tuzla Canton" was discussed.

In preparation for this session, information was requested from all institutions at the federal, cantonal and local levels, which, within their competences, deal with issues of the rights and position of persons with disabilities. The information was provided by the Government or relevant ministries of the Tuzla Canton, the Institute of Health Insurance and the Institute of Public Health of the Tuzla Canton, the Cantonal Administration for Inspection Affairs and the social work centers of Tuzla, Kalesija, Čelić, Doboj Istok, Teočak, Gračanica, Banovići and Kladanj.

In the introductory part of the session, the representatives of the Ministry of Labour, Social Policy and Return, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Tuzla Canton, as well as the representatives of the "My Right" Association Network of the Tuzla Canton and the Coalition of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities of the Tuzla Canton addressed the attendees.

After the discussion, the Tuzla Canton Assembly unanimously adopted two conclusions, namely:

• The Government of Tuzla Canton is tasked to form a Working Group which, taking into account all the regulations governing the rights of persons with disabilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Strategy for the Improvement of the Rights and Position of Persons with Disabilities in the Federation of BiH 2025-2030. year, to prepare an Action Plan for improving the rights and position of persons with disabilities in the Tuzla Canton. The action plan will precisely define the measures, activities and deadlines for their implementation. The working group will be composed of representatives of the ministries, institutions and public institutions of the Tuzla Canton, which within their departments have responsibilities regarding the rights of persons with disabilities, and representatives of associations that represent the rights of persons with disabilities in the Tuzla Canton. The appointed Working Group will also evaluate the timely execution of measures and activities for the improvement of the position of persons with disabilities, determined by the Action Plan.
• The management of UKC Tuzla is tasked to, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the Government of Tuzla Canton, approach the procurement of the necessary equipment for the needs of the Clinic for Children's Diseases, as well as to find the possibility for the admission of additional pediatricians to work at the said Clinic, with the aim of creating conditions for education and awarding of sub-specializations in neuropediatrics.
