In the organization of the Information Center for People with Disabilities "Lotos" Tuzla, through the project"Together for independent living", from April 24 to 26, 2026, a three-day workshop on the topic: "Rights of persons with disabilities, personal assistance and public advocacy" was successfully held at the "Terme Ozren" Hotel.

Representatives of the Bužim Dystrophy Association, Elvedin Grošić as a lecturer and Samir Đulić as an assistant lecturer, actively participated in the implementation of the workshop, through educational sessions and practical work with the participants.

The workshop was attended by 15 young people with disabilities from cities across Bosnia and Herzegovina, including Bužim, Cazin, Banja Luka, Zenica, Maglaj, Doboj, Modriča, Tuzla, Teočak, Čelić and Bijeljina. Through lectures, discussions and group work, young people had the opportunity to expand their knowledge about the rights of people with disabilities, the importance of personal assistance, public advocacy and ways of starting initiatives to improve the position of people with disabilities in local communities.

A special focus is placed on practical examples of successful initiatives, communication with institutions and the development of concrete proposals for positive changes in society.

Such activities are of great importance for empowering young people with disabilities and strengthening their active participation in society, because only by working together can we build a more accessible and fair environment for everyone!

The project "Together for an independent life" is implemented in partnership with I.C. "Lotos" Tuzla, Association of Cazin Dystrophists and the Organization of the Blind and Visually Impaired Teslić.

Activities within the project "Together for an independent life" are implemented as part of the Dialogue for the Future 3 (DFF3) project, which is carried out by UNDP Bosnia and Herzegovina, UNICEF Bosnia and Herzegovina and the UNESCO Office in Venice, in cooperation with the Resident Coordinator UN in Bosnia and Herzegovina, te u partnerstvu s Predsjedništvom Bosne i Hercegovine i Ministarstvom civilnih poslova Bosne i Hercegovine.
