Strengthening Understanding and Inclusion Among Youth in Živinice 🌿
By Jasminko BijelićPublished On 12/11/2025
On November 12, 2025, the second workshop and Peer Support session for a new group of young people was held in Živinice, as part of activities aimed at promoting inclusion and knowledge about the rights of persons with disabilities.
The workshop was attended by six young people, including two without disabilities, which contributed to shared learning and greater understanding among youth. In addition to empowering young people with disabilities, the session also aimed to promote equal rights and mutual respect.
After participants were introduced to correct terminology and respectful forms of address in the first workshop, this session focused on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities – one of the key international instruments for protecting and promoting the rights of persons with disabilities, which Bosnia and Herzegovina has signed and ratified. For most participants, this was their first encounter with the Convention. They also had the opportunity to learn about the Law on Professional Rehabilitation, Training, and Employment of Persons with Disabilities, an important resource for young people seeking employment and economic independence.
The workshop took place in the welcoming space of Caffe-Restaurant "Cult" in Živinice, and we extend our gratitude to the hosts for their hospitality and cooperation.
These events were organized with the support of the City of Živinice, the Government of Tuzla Canton, and the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy.
