With the support of the Network of Women with Disabilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, on 7 November 2025, a lecture by a gynecologist for women with disabilities was held at the Ši Selo Local Community Center in Tuzla, as part of the local initiative “Education and Regular Check-ups – the Path to Protecting the Health of Women with Disabilities.”
Participants included women of different ages, and the lecture took the form of an open discussion with an experienced gynecologist who answered numerous questions from the participants. This interactive format provided women with disabilities the opportunity to receive accurate and useful information about reproductive health, prevention, and the importance of regular check-ups, in a safe and supportive environment.
The next activity within this initiative will be organized gynecological examinations for women with disabilities at the Tuzla Health Center. If women with disabilities from other municipalities and cities in the Tuzla Canton express interest, examinations will also be organized in health centers in their local communities.
The local initiatives of the Network of Women with Disabilities in BiH are implemented within the framework of the project “Strengthening the Position of Women with Disabilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina – Reducing Discrimination and Violence,” implemented by the Information Center for Persons with Disabilities “Lotos” Tuzla with the support of the Kynnys organization from Finland.
