Organized by the Network of Women with Disabilities of BiH, today (November 3, 2025) an education on the rights of women with disabilities was held at the Hotel Zenica in Zenica, within the framework of a local initiative supported by the network.
The event took place in an exceptionally positive atmosphere, with the active participation of all the women present who had the opportunity to ask questions, share their experiences, and receive concrete, helpful answers.
Educators Selma and Belma from the Women's Rights Center addressed a series of important topics concerning the daily lives and rights of women with disabilities, including:
Participants are also familiarized with the "4P" network concept – the idea of the Women's Rights Center, which implies that every woman victim of violence has the right to a professionally trained helper. The helper provides support in accessing institutions, services, and justice throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina – because women should not have to go through violence and bureaucracy alone.
During the education, the participants actively participated in the conversation, asked questions, and shared personal experiences, creating a space of mutual understanding, support, and solidarity.
The education was both informative and empowering – it provided new knowledge, practical information, and a sense of community among women with disabilities.
We thank all the participants who, with their presence, courage, and openness, contributed to the success of today's meeting.
Together we continue to build a society of equal opportunities – for louder, more visible, and stronger women with disabilities.
This local initiative was implemented within the project "Strengthening the position of women with disabilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina - reduction of discrimination and violence", implemented by the Information Center for People with Disabilities "Lotos" Tuzla, with the support of the organization Kynnys ry.
