Within the framework of the project “Policy Creation in Bosnia and Herzegovina with Respect for Human Rights and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities”, jointly implemented by the Information Center for Persons with Disabilities “Lotos” Tuzla and the Association of the Blind of Sarajevo Canton, and funded by the European Union, a two-day training for organizations of persons with disabilities was held on 6 and 7 November 2025, on the topic “Working with the Media, Public Relations and Use of Social Networks.”
The training took place at the Hollywood Hotel in Sarajevo and was led by trainer Uma Isić. Participants had the opportunity to gain practical knowledge on improving communication with the public, effectively presenting the work of their organizations through the media, and using social networks as tools for promoting human rights and inclusion.
The training brought together representatives of organizations of persons with disabilities from across Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a particular emphasis on members of the Union of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities in BiH.
This was the fourth training implemented within the framework of the project, with one more planned for next year.
The main goal of the project is to contribute to the development of public policies in the field of disability based on the human rights approach, as defined by international and European documents. The project aims to ensure a common understanding and consistent application of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in policies and legislation at all levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The project is funded by the European Union and implemented by the Information Center for Persons with Disabilities “Lotos” Tuzla and the Association of the Blind of Sarajevo Canton.
