PUBLIC INVITATION FOR THE AWARD OF SMALL GRANTS FOR FINANCING PROJECTS OF ORGANIZATIONS AND COALITIONS OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
The Informative Center for Persons with Disabilities "Lotos" and the Association of the Blind of Sarajevo Canton, with financial support from the European Union, are implementing the project "Creating Policies in Bosnia and Herzegovina with Respect for Human Rights and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities."
The goal of the Project is to improve public policies in the field of disability in Bosnia and Herzegovina through the promotion of a human rights-based approach, in accordance with the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). Furthermore, the focus of the Project is to raise awareness about the human rights of persons with disabilities, strengthen the capacities of organizations of persons with disabilities (OPD), and enhance their cooperation with decision-makers. The project includes training for decision-makers, study visits, the creation of an online collaboration platform, the establishment of independent frameworks for monitoring the implementation of the CRPD, as well as national communication campaigns that involve the engagement of well-known human rights advocates. The activities are designed to contribute to a better understanding and application of the principles of the CRPD, strengthening OPDs and their members, and changing public perception of persons with disabilities.
As part of the Project Information Center for Persons with Disabilities "Lotus" and the Association of the Blind of Sarajevo Canton, a Public Call is announced for the allocation of grants to organizations and coalitions of persons with disabilities from Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will, based on this support, develop project activities aimed at motivating and involving women and youth with disabilities in the movement and work of organizations and coalitions of persons with disabilities, as a way to achieve positive social changes in the lives of women and youth with disabilities, as well as in the local community.
