The meeting of representatives of the embassies of the member states of the European Union and other international partners was organized in Sarajevo, in the premises of the Delegation of the European Union in BiH, on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. About 50 representatives of the European Union, embassies and international organizations participated in the meeting, and the central topic was human rights with an emphasis on the rights of persons with disabilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The keynote speakers at this meeting were Mrs. Binas Goralija from the organization MyRight, Mr. Fikret Zuko from the Association of the Blind of Sarajevo Canton, Mr. Suvad Zahirović from the Information Center for People with Disabilities "Lotos" Tuzla and Mr. Zlatko Malić from Caritas BiH. In their presentation, the presenters talked about: challenges faced by people with disabilities in everyday life; challenges faced by women with disabilities; roles and difficulties in the work of organizations of persons with disabilities; the reform path, advocating and changing the law in BiH; concrete actions and activities that international representatives can do to improve the position of persons with disabilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. After the introductory presentation, a discussion was organized in which, through several questions and answers, an attempt was made to more clearly present the situation of persons with disabilities in BiH.
