On International Human Rights Day, December 10, 2024, an inspiring peer support meeting for women with disabilities was held in a positive and supportive atmosphere, attended by 20 participants.

At the meeting, the participants discussed everyday challenges, impressions from the previous year, as well as plans for the future. The meeting was an opportunity to further strengthen the Forum of Women with Disabilities of TK, welcome new girls who joined the group, for women with disabilities to share experiences and find ways to deal with the obstacles they face together. The participants were especially proud of their joint achievements from the past year, which are an indicator of their perseverance, solidarity and shared vision for a better tomorrow.

After the meeting, with even greater motivation and energy, on the occasion of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, the participants joined a street protest against violence against women, carrying messages calling for justice, safety, protection from violence, and equality for all women.

Joint participation in the protest with representatives of other organizations dealing with women's rights was a strong reminder that no woman should be left alone in the fight against violence and injustice.

Women with disabilities who participated in the meeting and protest once again demonstrated the power of unity, determination in the fight for equal rights and the prevention of violence against women with disabilities, and sent a message that only through joint action can positive changes be achieved.

The meeting was held with the support of the partner organization Center for Independent Living Kynnys ry Finland and the Government of the Canton of Tuzla.
