On the occasion of World Ear and Hearing Day, Federal Minister of Labor and Social Policy Adnan Delić visited the Association of the Deaf Canton of Sarajevo and met with Bojana Ljubojević, a girl who began to lose her hearing due to an illness in her second year of life, and became completely deaf at the age of 18. Bojana has no parents, and her desire for life and education is the motivation of her colleagues and friends in this association, which is why in November last year they applied for the support program of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy in order to provide this girl with a hearing aid with which she can study, work and live without hindrance.
"On the occasion of World Ear and Hearing Day, I would like to highlight the importance of ensuring equal opportunities for all, especially including people with disabilities. The sound environment plays a key role in the life of every individual, but it is especially important for those facing the challenges of hearing loss. The Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy strives to ensure that people with disabilities have access to all necessary resources to enable them to live a full and active life in the community," said Minister Delić in his message on the occasion of International Ear and Hearing Day.
"We support initiatives that promote awareness of living with disabilities and provide support to people with disabilities in realizing their potential. This year, we also have several programs to co-finance programs, activities and projects of non-profit organizations that provide support to people with disabilities, because only through joint efforts can we create an inclusive society in which every person feels accepted and supported," emphasized Minister Delić.
This is also an invitation to all organizations and associations to follow the example of the Association of the Deaf of the Canton of Skopje and apply to the support programs of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy programs that will improve the quality of life of their members.
