Consultative meetings aimed at drafting a Report on Progress in the Implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action within the Beijing +25 Process.
The Agency for Gender Equality of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the Gender Center of the Government of Republika Srpska and the Gender Center of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the technical support of the UN Women Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina, held a consultative meeting on April 12 in Brčko, at the Hotel Jelena, on the occasion of the development of the Progress Report on thethe Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action within the Beijing +25 process.
This meeting is one of four consultative meetings held in Bosnia and Herzegovina in April 2019 (Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Mostar and Brčko) aimed at introducing civil society organizations to the process of analyzing progress in the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (Beijing +25), defining key priorities for the preparation of the Report, as well as defining opportunities, challenges and recommendations for the implementation of these strategic documents in achieving progress in gender equality and women's empowerment.
The discussion focused on six main dimensions of relevance to the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development:
1 – Inclusive development, shared prosperity and decent work;
2 – Poverty eradication, social protection and social services;
3 – Freedom from violence, stigma and stereotypes;
4 – Participation, accountability and gender responsive institutions;
5 – Peaceful and inclusive societies;
6 - Preservation, protection and restoration of the environment.
The conclusions and recommendations from the meetings will define key priorities for the development of the Report, and define opportunities, challenges and recommendations for the implementation of these strategic documents in achieving progress in gender equality and women's empowerment.
Representatives of the Information Center for Persons with Disabilities "Lotos" Tuzla participated in the consultative meeting on the preparation of the Report on Progress in the Implementation of the Beijing Declaration and the Platform for Action within the Beijing +25 Process in Brčko.
