
The Coalition of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities of TK, as part of a campaign implemented by five coalitions of organizations of persons with disabilities that are part of the MyRight program in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is implementing a public advocacy campaign for a just society and equal opportunities for all under the title #ProudOfThemselves.
Campaign goal #ProudOfThemselves is to provide people with disabilities with equal opportunities and the realization of human rights, among others the right to accessible and adequate orthopedic and other assistive aids so that they can fully realize their full potential.
The Coalition of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities of the Canton of Tuzla, with the support and suggestions of organizations of persons with disabilities and other civil society organizations that supported the campaign, has conducted an analysis and prepared a proposal for amendments in the past three months. Decisions on the scope of the right to use orthopedic and other aids, as well as a proposal for amendments Decisions on the Unified List of Orthopedic and Other Devices.
The Coalition of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities of the Tuzla Canton will submit the above-mentioned document proposals to the Health Insurance Institute of the Tuzla Canton and the Ministry of Health of the Tuzla Canton on July 15, 2016, in order to initiate the adoption procedure by the Government of the Tuzla Canton.
"We are proud of the almost 2,000 signatures of support from citizens collected and we expect that the adoption of the above documents will ensure the conditions for obtaining adequate aids and the active inclusion of persons with disabilities in all segments of society," said the Chairman of the Coalition, Suvad Zahirović.
