As part of the project "Strengthening the capacities for independent living of persons with disabilities in BiH", funded by the Swedish international development agency Sida through the Swedish organization for people with disabilities for international cooperation MyRight and the partner organization STIL - Center for Independent Living from Stockholm, on April 29, the third "Peer support" session for young persons with disabilities and training for their parents and family members were held at the Retirement Home in Tuzla.
The third Peer Support session for young people with disabilities was attended by 14 participants and the Peer Support leaders were Zumreta Galijašević and Amna Alispahić. The topic of the session was: "Oral Communication Skills". Participants participated in interactive activities such as role plays, skill demonstrations and educational games.
The third training for parents and family members was attended by 10 participants and the lecturers were Amira Salković and Sandra Marković. The topic of the training was: "Increasing the competence of parents/family members of young people with disabilities on the rights and opportunities of young people with disabilities for independent living in the Tuzla Canton". One of the main topics discussed was the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, with certain exercises aimed at encouraging parents to think about and support their children in their personal responsibility in fighting for their rights. Exercises were also conducted to raise personal awareness of the problem, and the importance of supporting and encouraging their children, young people with disabilities, to be independent.

Since, between the two previous sessions, a group of young people had been on a three-day study visit to organizations of people with disabilities in Sarajevo, in addition to the regular topic, a presentation of the report from the study visit was organized and held by that group of young people, in which they visited organizations and companies for the employment of people with disabilities in the Sarajevo Canton, namely: The Company for Production, Trade and Services Uspon doo, Association of Blind Citizens of Sarajevo Canton, SUMERO – Association of Organizations for Support of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities in FBiH, MyRight – Empowers People with Disabilities Office in BiH, TMP – Association for Employment of Blind and Visually Impaired Persons – doo Sarajevo, “Oaza” – Association for Support of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities in the Sarajevo Canton.
