On December 22, 2015, trainings were held at the Pensioners' Home in Tuzla for young people with disabilities and their parents and family members. The trainings were attended by 15 young people with disabilities and 15 parents and family members of people with disabilities. The trainings were implemented within the project "Strengthening capacities for independent living of people with disabilities in BiH" of the Information Center "Lotos" Tuzla, which is funded by the Swedish International Development Agency Sida through the Swedish organization for international cooperation of people with disabilities MyRight and the partner organization STIL - Center for Independent Living from Stockholm.

The project aims to increase the level of independence of young people with disabilities in the area of TK, over a period of 3 years, and in relation to the research conducted by the Information Center for Persons with Disabilities "Lotos" from Tuzla through a team of authorized researchers using the interview method on a sample of 40 young people with disabilities and 40 members of their families in TK. The research identified key factors for the independent life of young people with disabilities. Based on the results of the research, IC "Lotos" developed a work program with a group of 15 young people with disabilities from TK and 15 members of their families to build their own, individual and group capacities in order to increase the level of independence and to a greater extent realize the rights guaranteed to them by the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

The lecturers of the first Training for parents and family members entitled "Increasing the competences of parents/family members of young people with disabilities on the rights and possibilities of young people with disabilities for independent living in the Canton of Sarajevo" were graduate social worker Sandra Marković and prof. of primary education Amira Salković. The lecturers of the first Training for young people with disabilities entitled "Acquiring self-confidence and competences, mentoring program and mutual support program" were graduate prof. of comparative literature and member of the Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired of the Sarajevo Canton Amna Alispahić and M.A. in Economics Zumreta Galijašević.
