The Information Center for Persons with Disabilities "Lotos" organized a training on the topic "Personal Finances and Organizational Finances" and "Self-Presentation and Presentation of Persons with Disabilities in the Media" on May 19 and 20, 2015 at the Hotel Zlača.

The training was attended by 20 participants. The lecturer and moderator of the training was the director of the Information Center for Persons with Disabilities "Lotos" Suvad Zahirović.

On the first day of the training, there was an active discussion about how to work on maintaining a balance between income and expenses. Participants talked about possibilities for controlling personal expenses, possibilities for additional occupations and income, and what they would like to do, and that, although people with disabilities have limitations, they should dare to change and challenge themselves by believing in themselves and their abilities. 

The second day of the training discussed what we do to ensure that the people we want to influence get the right picture of us and what we can use to let people around us know that we are valuable and that they can count on us. The participants agreed that we should be careful about the first impression we make on someone, because that first experience opens or closes the door to our surroundings, but that we should not lose our individuality. 

It was also discussed that people with disabilities are more in the focus of attention than other people and that communication and relationships with people should reflect the way we want people to perceive us. Participants discussed how important it is for people with disabilities to be heard and that the media is the right way to express our needs and desires, which we have the right to, just like all other citizens, and that we should not allow someone else to talk about us on our behalf.
